CCARSA MEMBERS,

January 21st, 2009

Under statutory authority granted by the new law, the Board of Electricity is making rules concerning the Continuing Education Requirement for Unlicensed electrical workers.  All electrical workers not licensed must, by law, register with the state.  The Board of Electricity has proposed new Rules that can be read HERE http://www.doli.state.mn.us/pdf/rulemaking_3800_proposed_rules.pdf  Page 10 deals with unlicensed persons and their continuing education.

Many CCARSA members have expressed their displeasure with these rules.

All comments in support of or in opposition to the proposed rules or any part or subpart of the rules must be in writing and must be received by Annette Trnka [email protected] by 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2009.

At least twenty-five (25) people must request a hearing.  If 25 or more valid requests for hearing are received by the deadline, then a hearing will be held beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2009, in the Minnesota Room, Department of Labor and Industry, 443 Lafayette Road North, St. Paul, Minnesota 55155. To find out whether a hearing will be held, contact Annette Trnka [email protected] after January 22nd.  More information is available HERE http://www.doli.state.mn.us/pdf/rulemaking_3800_licenses.pdf.

Minnesota Electrical Act Changes - Important

As you may know, the Minnesota Electrical Act was changed by the legislature this year.  Under difficult circumstances CCARSA worked hard on your all behalf.  None of the work that Technology Contractors won in previous years, like control wiring, was lost.  But new changes have been made to the laws.  Much of this information is PRELIMINARY as a rule making process will result for final regulations; CCARSA will continue to represent Minnesota's Technology Companies.

Join CCARSA and get your yearly CEUs for no additional charge.

As a member benefit, CCARSA is providing its members with their yearly CEUs for FREE.

You must pre-register for the CCARSA CEU classes and must attend the Annual Meeting.  Eight (8) hours of continuing education units will be taught before the meeting.
